Job description

The Industrial Mechanic is responsible for installing and repairing hydraulic and electrical systems on a variety of snow-removal equipment and dump bodies mounted on heavy-duty trucks. You will work closely with our technical team to ensure optimal equipment performance.

Responsabilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair hydraulic and electrical systems for snow-removal equipment and dump bodies

  • Diagnose hydraulic and electrical issues and perform necessary repairs

  • Install and set up valves, pumps, power take-offs (PTOs) and other hydraulic components

  • Make hydraulic connections and prepare hydraulic hoses according to specifications

  • Perform electrical hookups according to provided schematics

  • Assemble machinery and equipment using hand tools, pneumatic and electric tools, and welding equipment prior to installation

  • Install, disassemble, and relocate mechanical equipment such as pumps, tanks, and electrical systems

  • Weld metal parts using various manual or semi-automatic welding machines

  • Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect malfunctions and failures

Qualifications required

  • Diploma in Industrial Mechanics or equivalent relevant experience

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience installing and repairing hydraulic and/or electrical systems

  • Ability to read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics

  • Proficiency in welding, hydraulics, and electrical work

  • Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Energetic, proactive, and versatile

  • Strong attention to detail
