Historical background

In 1951, Hervé Forget leaves his Val-des-Lacs workshop and acquires a small welding and machining workshop in Saint-Jovite. He then operates his company, Hervé Forget Machine shop, with the help of his only and loyal employee, Fernand Lajeunesse. Over the years, Hervé diversifies his company’s activities and gets into the field of snow removal equipment and dump trucks.

In turn, each of his children joins the family business. The company is registered to St-Jovite Machine Shop Inc. in 1979, but the Charter of the French Language compels them to change the name to Les Machineries St-Jovite Inc.

From 2010 to 2014, five cousins from the 3rd generation of Forget became co-shareholders of Les Machineries St-Jovite: Véronique, Mathieu, Philippe and Sébastien Forget, as well as Pierre Charron.

This great team has maintained the company’s excellent reputation for the quality of its products and customer service. In 2014, the company was selected as Company of the Year by the Chambre de commerce du Grand Mont-Tremblant, in addition to winning the Entreprise de service – Commerce de détail et Entreprise en démarrage et/ou relève award. (Retail Trade and Start-up and/or Succession Company award).

In 2014, Machineries St-Jovite undertakes a major expansion and renovation project on the main building and add an industrial paint building.

In 2019, the brand image is entirely rebranded to better reflect the company’s vision. The latter is now known as MACHINERIES FORGET.
